Cover Dog: Bella Jacobs landed in the right house.  She's come quite a long way from being a tick infested stray from San Francisco to a Brookside resident with her very own pool and cat. Cleo may even agree that she is indeed "Bella's Cat".  Bella is an amazing hunter, and will hunt for squirrels, bunnies and bugs to no end while on a walk, but once she's home, it's all pamper and play.  She is walked by Ben, The Man With The Gentle Voice two to three times per week. Bella attended our 5th Anniversary party and has accompanied her Mom, Kristen and Aunt Nicole to several of our Sniff and Be Sniffed.

Nikki Hallquist passed away in late February.  She was one of those special dogs that everyone here really connected with.  We had the privilege of seeing her several times each year, while her family was away on vacation.  As we all thought back about Nik, we each remembered unique things about her.  She ALWAYS drug her feet when we went on walks. If you looked closely at her back feet you could see how her toenails were worn down from her lazy style of walking.  She also had a little ridge of fur on her nose that grew in the opposite direction.  She loved her family a whole bunch, and because they were gone and she was missing them, we frequently had to sit with her in order for her to eat her breakfast and dinner; she didn't like to eat alone.  I particularly enjoyed that time with Nikki, she seemed so content eating her food, and having someone to keep her company. The whole citydog crew would like the Hallquist family to know that our thoughts are with them.

Mac Vail passed away in February.  Nan and Keith, also recently lost their other Newfie, Bear.  Mac and Bear were pet sitting clients, but Nan was also a friend through Kansas City SCOOP.  Mac was a great big, handsome guy who always turned heads.  He was the kind of dog that made cars stop, just to ask what kind of dog he was.  He was gracious to enough to indulge peoples curiosity about him.  He was also patient enough to wear boxers during the Brookside St. Patty's Parade when Nan walked in it with KC SCOOP. Nan was nice enough to cut a hole in them for his tail.  Yes, she had to buy the XXL.  Goodbye, Mac.

GROUP TRIPS TO PENN VALLEY DOG PARK
We finally began regularly scheduled park trips last month.  Our sessions are Monday at 2:30 or Friday at 2:30.  Call to make a reservation for either, and when we're full, we'll add another day to our schedule!  Below are some pictures from our last trip.  LeeAnn Barker-Trapani, our photographer joined David at the park to capture the moments, thanks LeeAnn!

David safely guiding his motley crew, Dobby, Eloise, and Mac, to the park.

Mac, took a break from running, to get in a little sunning.  And yes, Bulldogs DO run.

For Dobby, it was like the first day at a new school.  This wasn't the New York dog park she was used to!

David kept a careful eye on his crew to make sure everyone was playing nice...and they were! Eloise strutted her stuff, mainly her l....o....n....g sexy legs, for the boys.  Isn't puberty hell on the parents?!

Buster Needs a Home.  Buster was a happy cat until Ruby, a young rambunctious Visla, came along.  Now, there is a human baby on the way, and Buster is NOT happy about that either.  Erica and Jim, Busters parents, are broken up about having to find him a new home, but they have come to realize that Buster just isn't happy anymore.  He is a medium sized gray kitty, who is 4.5 years old.  He is very affectionate, on his own terms, and loves to sleep at the foot of Jim and Erica's bed at night.  He gets along well with other cats, but is not fond of dogs.  Erica thinks if the dog was quiet, he might be okay, but would probably be happiest without a canine in the house.  He is shy so also a home without young children would be best.  For more information on Buster, call Erica or Jim at

In the heart of the Crossroads Arts District.  Cool and relaxed.

Dog Walker Coming Soon To A Soda Bottle Near You!
This sleepy form on the latest flavor of Jones Soda is our very own Gia Trapani!  LeeAnn, her spouse, submitted the photo and a month later, they sent back a proof of the label, saying the photo had been chosen to go on their FUFU BERRY soda bottles. Apparently FUFU BERRY makes you sleepy...
